Trip to the Florida Aquarium

Today was lots of fun! Since David had off from work today (he started his new job at the Hard Rock Casino last week) we decided to take Brody to the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. It was a really nice aquarium, but a bit pricey for the size. First, it cost $6 just to park, which I wasn't expecting. Then it was $22/person for admission. I was expecting more for the money, but still nice regardless. We started out by getting a bite to eat at their Cafe. David and I both got individual cheese pizzas and Brody ate my crust. Then we ventured into the exhibits. There were three main exhibits; The Wetlands, Bays and Beaches, and the Coral Reef. My favorite was of course the Coral Reef. Brody behaved so much better than I expected. When we bring him places he usually wants to run all over the place and never goes where I want him to. He walked around the entire aquarium with us while David pushed the stroller. Any time we'd get to a new tank, Brody would stop, go right up to the glass, and look at all the fish. Then he would walk and follow daddy to the next tank while I walked next to him. I'm pretty sure that he loved it. It makes me so happy to see my kid having a good time.

This is pretty image heavy! I'm not always too thrilled with the quality of pictures that my iPhone takes, especially in poor lighting, but it's kind of a pain carrying around my DSLR when I have a heavy diaper bag to carry as it is. I'd kind of like to find a nice point and shoot sometime.

Oh the places you'll go

I love to travel, but I've only been to places inside the United States and to Niagara Falls, Canada. There are so many places throughout the world that I'd love to go and these are just a few of my top choices!

I'd love to be able to take an Alaskan cruise one day. It just looks so beautiful.

Hawaii, specifically the Disney Resort, Aulani is where I'd like to go most.

Italy

Paradise Island

Easy Chicken Teriyaki Recipe

Easy Chicken Teriyaki
Prep Time: 5 minutes   Cook Time: 20 minutes

If you're like me, cooking something quick and simple is ideal at dinner time. This chicken teriyaki recipe only takes a few minutes to prepare and twenty minutes to cook! I can't find the Shake 'N Bake Teriyaki at most of the grocery stores around here, but did find it at Walmart.

What You Need:
Shake 'N Bake Teriyaki Glaze
1 lb. Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts (thin sliced)
Uncle Ben's Country Inn Chicken Flavor Rice

1. Moisten chicken breasts and coat with Shake 'N Bake Teriyaki glaze.
2. Cook chicken in oven on 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
3. While chicken is cooking, prepare Uncle Ben's rice according to box. Simply add rice to water, boil and simmer for 10 minutes.

That's it! This dish can be served with vegetables or a side salad and makes around 3-4 servings.

Siblings?

My kid is nuts. Lately I've been thinking about whether or not I want to have another baby. I always used to say that I wanted two kids and I didn't want them to be very far apart in age. Now that Brody's almost 1 1/2  years old, I just don't know! He's a handful enough as it is, but I really don't want him to be an only child. Especially because we don't have any family near us, I feel like he really needs to have a sibling that he can play with. Me and my brother are four years apart and while we played together when we were little, I think it would have been nicer to be closer in age. Days like today really make me question if I could handle another kid though. Brody was extremely difficult the entire day, screaming, crying and throwing tantrums over everything. Maybe he's going through a growth spurt or something because he's been like this on and off for the past couple weeks. Where did my sweet little boy go? :(

My Life In A Nutshell

Hi everyone! I've finally decided to take my first step into the blogging world. I've been documenting a large portion of my life through LiveJournal for the past six or seven years and used DeadJournal even before that. While I still use LiveJournal pretty frequently to browse communities and stay up to date with online friends, I stopped updating my own personal journal as much as I used to when I felt that I had nothing new to say that would interest anyone. I chose the name, "Don't Spill The Milk!" because I find myself saying things like this pretty often with a toddler running around. I don't know where this blog will take me, if anywhere, but I want to make a promise to myself that I will have fun with it and update it to share and remember all of the memories that I'm making with my amazing little family. Maybe I'll even throw in some yummy (and simple!) recipes that I enjoy cooking and other fun stuff.

If you're reading this, you may already know who I am. For those who don't, my name is Colleen and I am a 22 year old wife and mother. I married David, my boyfriend of five years at the time, on July 12, 2010 and gave birth to my son, Brody on February 2, 2011. My little guy and best friend in the whole world is now 16 months old and time is flying! Sometimes it feels like he's been here forever and other times it seems like he was just born yesterday. And trust me, he gets crazier every day. I love the age he is at now, but I also can't wait for him to get bigger so we can experience new and fun things together. We used to live in New Jersey, but moved down to Florida almost a year ago. I've wanted to live down here for pretty much forever and my dream finally came true! No more snow or cold weather, it's like heaven. I'm so glad that we moved here because I already know that it's going to be a wonderful place for Brody to grow up. He's already friends with the little girl next door who's only about six months older than him. The only downside to living here is that we are pretty far away from David's family. He's originally from Virginia and while New Jersey was only a six hour car ride away, Florida is about thirteen hours, if not more.

I don't want to make my first post too long and boring, so I'm going to end it here with some pictures of Brody. Each picture was taken three months apart. It's crazy to see how much he has grown!
